Collin by the flags in on the MTC grounds. |
This
week was a fun week. The biggest change that we encountered was the beginning
of TRC (Training Resource Center) lessons. A TRC lesson is an assigned
investigator that you get who is hired by the MTC to be a fake, or real
investigator. I'm pretty sure that most of them start out as fake investigators
but then switch to being members shortly after because they take 6 or 7
missionary lessons a day.
The
person that we are teaching is named Gabriella. She's really cool, she's from
Peru and has a lot of personality. It's been fun getting to know her a lot and
teaching her. We taught her three lessons this week, and we learned a lot from
them. The second lesson was one that my companion and I learned a lot from. We
tried teaching her the Restoration Lesson in chapter 3 of Preach my Gospel, but
then she wasn't very interested in that. She gave us a list of questions that
she had and then when we answered them in our next meeting, it was probably the
best lesson that we had ever given. We teach people, not lessons.
During
workout time on Monday, Elder Hobbs rolled his ankle really bad, but luckily
didn't break any bones. I will link a picture below of it, don't look at it if
you don't like looking at injuries.
I
saw Elder Johnathan Meyers, this week which was really cool. If you're from
Idaho and Utah, you see a lot of people from your school and stake around, but
being from Oregon it's a little bit less common. We didn't get a picture; we
will try this week if I see him.
Thanks
for listening to my experiences on a mission. I love it here!
