Week #13- Conferencia General

How's it going, followers of the Elder Murphy Experience™.

This week was a ride. Our numbers as missionaries weren't that good. We usually get 3-10 new investigators in a week, but this week we got 0. We had a conference in the mission headquarters, General Conference, transfers, so that makes sense. The numbers you get on a mission (for example # of lessons taught, # of new investigators, # of baptisms, etc.) are important, and reflect how hard you worked, but other things are more important than numbers. Elder Holland said that there is a person behind every one of the numbers that we have.

We also had a marriage in our ward, which is really just as important as a baptism. Baptism is great, but what we want is more, we want families to be sealed in the Temple, and this marriage allows them to to that.
This is the cute family that had the mom and dad get married last Friday.

We went to Godoy Cruz for a training meeting with all of my group. I got to see my friends from my district, zone, and other parts of the MTC. There's a picture of Elder Hobbs, Hermana McGill, Hartle, and I.

Reunited!!

Some of the best friends I have in the mission. Elder Hobbs (my MTC companion), and I spent some time talking. I don't know if he´ll read this or whatever but I can say he is one of my best friends of all time probably. We have shared experiences that are so crazy and unique together; experiences moving to
Argentina and living in the MTC (spirit prison) that I will never have again.

The final (and obvious) thing that we did was watch general conference. It was very hard to watch conference in Spanish. Usually the missionaries who speak English have a room to themselves, but i was the only English speaker in the group so I had to watch it in Spanish. Needless to say, it was really hard. The best talk was probably the one by Renlund in the priesthood session. If i remember correctly, he talked about maintaining your covenants and repenting to have power in the priesthood.   I am excited to read the talks in English when i receive the Liahona magazine next month.

Food update: Not much to say but one of my favorite things to do is watch what the members and people do with their mate while we visit them. We ask them what they do to make it taste better. There are about a million different ways to prepare mate, and everyone has a strong opinion about which is the best. Some people do it very elegantly and take their time, and others just throw it together in a plastic cup. Every P day morning I drink so much of it. Ah it is so good.

That's all for today folks.
