Week #17 - Animals and the White Torment
Hola
amados amigos míos-
Today
I am going to talk about what I would consider one of the better weeks of my
mission! Last week was a bit of a bummer. The best way to get rid
of that bit of a downer is to do what President Hinckley said, "Forget yourself and go to
work!"
That's
exactly what we did this week and we were more successful and happier as a
companionship. In whatever thing you are doing in your life right now, whether
it be working, school, or a Mormon mission, if you forget yourself and go to
work, you will be happier.
This
week we did something called the Tormento Blanco, which means "white
torment." This means that all of the missionaries from the zone go to one
area and work. It's a white torment because we all wear white shirts, and
there's like 10 of us in 1 small town. Our mission president, Presidente
Panzacchi came to interview some people in the zone this day too, so we got to
talk to the Gran Panzacchi. He's super awesome. I would bet all mission
presidents are awesome but just some of the things he does are super funny. He
has a signature laugh that I wish everyone could hear. He is also the worlds
scariest driver. Awesome dude.
When
we did the white torment, I found a small black kitty on the ground and took a
picture with it. Excuse my face in this picture though.
The
last thing I want to talk about is the legend, José Carlos. He is the guy
pictured in the white jumpsuit. He is a recent convert of a little more than 1
week. He brought us to his friends house to teach. We ended up teaching a
family of 6, and he was able to add his testimony to it. Be like José Carlos
and share this message with your friends.
That
is all. This week was awesome.
I
almost forgot 1 thing
Food
update: Tacos. Tacos don't exist here. My companion and I, being from the U.S.
and Mexico, the taco capitals of the world made some tortillas using corn that
is for feeding chickens. They taste good, but the 2 times I've eaten them I got
sick afterwards, so maybe it isn't the best food to eat. We ate tacos with the
Branch president's family. They didn't really know how to eat tacos so they
just used the meat with rice and potatoes, like true Argentines. My companion
and I enjoyed the tacos, though.
That
is all.
