Week #46 - Zone Conferences from a Different Perspective and Week #47 - 25 de Mayo and Windows 10
Week #46 (Sent Monday, May 21st)
It's
been a cool week.
Probably
the most exciting thing we did was zone conference. It was my most exciting
zone conference because instead of just sitting and watching, I also did the
talking. I had a 25 minute presentation and demonstration on how we can do
references better in the mission. If for some reason you want to read it, I
attached it to the email. It's in Spanish though. It was kind of scary to be
honest, doing a presentation in Spanish in front of almost 100 people, 50 or so
of them being native Spanish speakers. I tried to be super serious the whole
time but everyone told me afterwards that it was funny, but still informative.
President liked it, so I am fine.
I
don't really remember anything else that happened this week. It honestly went
by super fast. We had some good lessons and stuff as well. I should have
written stuff down better to be honest haha. I remember updating our physical
transfer board and fixing a printer. That was kind of fun I guess.
Have
a good week friends

Week
#47 (sent Monday, May 28th)
It's
been a patriotic week in Argentina.
The
25th of May here is the May Day Revolution. People here don't really celebrate
holidays as hard as we do in the states. In the 4th of July in the states,
there are fireworks and American flags on every street, but here not so
much.
We
had this party in the church which was fun. We ate Argentine foods, recounted
the story of the Argentine revolution and stuff like that. It was a good time.
There were a few investigators there, so that was cool too.
This
guy named Jermán got baptized on Saturday. It was pretty cool because me and
one of the APs found him while doing exchanges that day. He told me he had to
go to the bathroom so we stopped by the church. Turns out that there were about
30 kids who climbed through a hole in the fence to get on the church property.
4 kids were smoking by a tree and the rest were playing soccer. We talked about
the word of wisdom with the 4 and then gave the rest a church tour, and
told them that if they wanted to play, they would have to talk to the bishop
and have a signature from their parents. Turns out one of them just got
baptized and 2 or 3 more are attending regularly. That was pretty awesome. We
do these activities called "capilla abierta," (church open house)
where we open up the church to have people do a tour. Turns out we might start
doing "cancha abierta," (open soccer field) instead.
Whelp,
that´s about it. Fun week. Next week is transfers so we'll find out if god
wants me to stay in the offices or go somewhere else. I have no idea to be
honest. Talk to y'all later.
Oh
yeah and we also installed windows 10 in all of the office computers. That took
a while but now I don't have crazy viruses on my computer which is sweet.
Also,
last night Elder Holland (yes, that elder Holland) came to Mendoza. Unfortunately
he could only talk to our mission president and leaders of the church then
quickly leave. I was like 3 miles away from an apostle in Argentina. Yeah, I
know, it stinks.
