Week #22 - Spider Week
What's going on everyone.
This week was pretty scary with spiders. I walked in the bathroom at like 11:30 at night, then after about 30 seconds I see this large spider crawling around. I whack it with a squeegee and it dies. I later find out that it was a fairly poisonous spider, known as the Rincón spider in South America. That was cool. Later, we are in a lesson and this giant spider comes out and then a 2 year old boy comes up and stomps it. That was cool. The next day, we're in a lesson with the same people and they say to my companion "hay una araña en su brazo," which means he has a spider on his arm. It was pretty big. We kill it. That was cool. Spiders are pretty scary but I am not really that scared of them anymore.
I have also lost a ton of weight since arriving in Mendoza. I weighed myself like 2 days ago and I have lost 15-20 pounds since the MTC, without even dieting. Pretty crazy. I feel like I eat a lot, but I also walk a ton.
The best part of the week was last night, about 16 hours ago when we did the baptism of Fabiana and Facundo. They are really cool. It was an honor to baptize Facundo, the dude in the pictures. They are about my age, which is pretty cool. It seems like the people that are 17-21 really like to talk to us and hear our message. We are probably more relatable to them than the 65 year old Jehovah's Witness ladies.
A scripture that I really liked this week is Alma 26:12:
12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
As missionaries we do a lot of miracles. But we don't do any of them. God does all of them. We just deliver the message.
That's all for this week.

Also below are photos of the missionaries that live 20 minutes away from us in Cordón. Elder Vilar from Uruguay and Elder Requena from Chile. Elder Requena lived in the mission where my dear friends Shane and Brydon served thier missions.
